2021 Virtual Adelaide International Women’s Day Breakfast
March 5, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am ACDT
The Adelaide International Women’s Day Breakfast (IWD) Committee and Senator the Hon Penny Wong are pleased to announce our 2021 Adelaide IWD Breakfast guest speaker will be: Natasha Stott Despoja.
Natasha Stott Despoja AO is the founding Chair of Our Watch (the Foundation to Prevent Violence Against Women and their Children).
Natasha is the youngest woman to enter the Australian Federal Parliament where she was Senator for South Australia and Leader of the Australian Democrats.
She served as Australia’s Global Ambassador for Women and Girls, and in November 2020, was elected by the General Assembly of the United Nations as a member of the Committee to Eliminate Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
In May 2018, she was named one of the Top 100 Global Influencers on Gender Policy.
The Adelaide IWD Committee is delighted that Natasha is able to speak at our first all-virtual Adelaide International Women’s Day Breakfast.
2021 Virtual Adelaide IWD Breakfast
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disadvantaged millions of women and as a result we need your support more than ever to help us to raise funds to support UN Women Australia’s projects in the Asia-Pacific region.
The 2021 Adelaide IWD Breakfast will be held virtually, allowing us to stream our speakers directly to you. We hope that you will continue to support the magnificent work of UN Women Australia; and our event from all over Adelaide and Australia. We encourage you to use this as an opportunity to fundraise for UN Women Australia by hosting smaller events and watching the live stream with your friends and colleagues.
Details for how to purchase a virtual ticket to attend the IWD Breakfast will be sent out to you in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on your mailbox!
From the 2020 Adelaide IWD Breakfast we were able to donate $70,000 to UN Women Australia.
This was a significant achievement and we hope to continue that strength in anticipation of a return to a Face to Face event in 2022
